Genuine Dell LCD ribbon cable for Mini 1012 and 1018

This genuine Dell LCD video ribbon cable carries the part number HFMW7 and fits the Inspiron Mini 10 1012 and Inspiron 1018 netbooks. It includes the integrated camera connector required by those models. The cable restores the internal video link between the motherboard and the display panel.

Straightforward replacement

Installation follows the standard netbook disassembly routine: remove the bezel, disconnect the old ribbon, and seat the new cable into the motherboard and panel sockets. The thin flexible circuit tears easily if bent sharply, and the camera connector must be fully inserted before the latch is closed or the webcam will not be detected.

Passive construction maintains signal integrity

As a passive ribbon assembly the cable adds no active components and therefore generates no heat during sustained operation. Signal quality remains stable for the life of the part provided the flex zones are not repeatedly stressed. Long-term reliability depends on careful routing during reassembly.
