Versatile 2-in-1 for business and study

The Dell Inspiron 14 converts between laptop and tablet modes with a 14.0 inch FHD+ touchscreen. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel 10-Core 5 120U processor with 16GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB SSD. The Ice Blue chassis weighs 3.77 pounds and measures 0.73 inches thin.

Sustained workloads on integrated graphics

The 10-core processor reaches a maximum turbo speed of 5.0 GHz from a 1.4 GHz base, while Intel Graphics handle the 1920 x 1200 panel at 60 Hz. Thermal headroom in the slim body lets the chip maintain elevated clocks during long compiles or video exports without throttling to base frequency. Dual fans and a vapour chamber spread heat across the keyboard deck.

16GB soldered DDR5 decides upgrade path

Memory is not user-expandable, so the 16GB configuration fixes the multitasking ceiling for the life of the device. Buyers who need more RAM for virtual machines or large datasets must choose a different model at purchase. The single 1TB SSD slot does accept a larger drive later.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the Intel 5 120U get when running all day?

The 10-core Intel 5 120U processor operates at a 1.4 GHz base speed and can turbo boost to 5.0 GHz, using integrated Intel Graphics without a discrete GPU, which typically keeps heat and fan noise moderate during sustained workloads.

What must I already own to use the 2 x USB-C 3.2 and 1 x HDMI 1.4 ports?

You need peripherals or cables with matching USB-C 3.2 or HDMI 1.4 connectors — such as external monitors, docks, or storage devices — because the laptop provides only the ports themselves, not the cables or adapters.

Will the 16 GB DDR5 and 1 TB SSD work smoothly with my older USB-A 3.2 accessories?

Yes, the laptop includes 2 x USB-A 3.2 ports that maintain backward compatibility with existing USB-A drives, mice, keyboards, and other peripherals while the system runs on 16 GB DDR5 memory and a 1 TB SSD.
