16-inch touchscreen work laptop

The Dell Inspiron 16 5620 pairs a 12th Generation Intel Core i7-1255U processor with 32 GB of DDR4-3200 memory and a 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD. A 16.0-inch 1920 x 1200 anti-glare touch display with ComfortView support provides a 16:10 workspace. Discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX570 graphics handle light creative tasks. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Discrete graphics and touch input

The MX570 GPU moves photo editing and casual video work off the integrated graphics, while the touchscreen enables direct annotation and navigation. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 maintain stable connections for peripherals and cloud sync. The chassis measures 14.05 x 9.92 x 0.72 in and weighs 4.12 lbs. Ports include two USB 3.2 Type-A, one USB 3.2 Type-C, HDMI and a headset jack.

Suited for mobile professionals needing pen

Buyers who want a colour-accurate panel for print work or a higher-wattage GPU for 3D rendering should look elsewhere. The 512 GB drive may limit users with large local media libraries. Memory tops out at 64 GB, so workloads requiring more RAM need a different platform.

Questions about this item

Can the 32 GB DDR4-3200 memory be upgraded later?

The laptop supports up to 64 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, so the current 32 GB can be expanded by adding or replacing modules.

What thermal limit appears first when the Intel Core i7-1255U runs at 4.7 GHz under sustained load?

The 10-core processor will hit its thermal ceiling and throttle clock speeds before the NVIDIA GeForce MX570 becomes the bottleneck.

How loud do the fans get and how hot does the chassis feel during an all-day workload?

Under continuous use the cooling system spins up audibly and the aluminium palm-rest area becomes noticeably warm, especially near the hinge.
