16-inch touchscreen laptop for everyday work

The Dell Inspiron 16 5640 pairs a 10-core Intel Core 7 150U processor with 32 GB of DDR5-5200 memory and a 1 TB NVMe SSD. The 16.0-inch WVA panel offers 1920 x 1200 resolution, anti-glare coating and touch input. It ships with Windows 11 Home and includes Wifi 6E plus Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.

32 GB memory and 1 TB storage headroom

The 32 GB DDR5-5200 configuration handles heavy multitasking, large spreadsheets and multiple browser tabs without paging. The 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD provides ample room for applications, media libraries and project files. Integrated Intel Graphics uses shared system memory, so 3D rendering, video editing or modern gaming will hit limits quickly.

Windows 11 Home and wireless stack included

Windows 11 Home delivers the standard desktop experience with support for touch gestures on the 60 Hz display. Wifi 6E (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.3 provide current-generation wireless performance for peripherals and network access. No optical drive, discrete GPU or additional software bundles are supplied.

Questions about this item

Will the Wifi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connect reliably to my older peripherals and router?

The laptop uses Wifi 6E 802.11ax and Bluetooth 5.3, both backward compatible with earlier Wi-Fi standards and Bluetooth devices, so existing mice, keyboards, headsets and routers will pair and connect without extra adapters.

How can I verify the Core 7 150U is hitting its 5.40 GHz boost and the 32GB DDR5-5200 is running at rated speed after setup?

Open Task Manager's Performance tab to watch the processor climb toward 5.40 GHz under load and confirm memory shows 5200 MT/s; Intel Graphics will appear as the GPU with shared system memory allocated automatically.

Does the box include a stylus for the 16" touch screen, and is the 1 TB NVMe drive user-upgradeable?

The supplier description lists only the laptop with Windows 11 Home, 32GB DDR5-5200 soldered memory and the 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD installed; no stylus is mentioned, and the single M.2 slot is occupied, so adding storage would require replacing the existing drive.
