Dell Inspiron 16 7640

The Dell Inspiron 16 7640 is a 16.0-inch touchscreen laptop powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor with 16 cores and a 5.10 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB NVMe SSD running Windows 11 Pro. The Ice Blue chassis includes a fingerprint reader and backlit keyboard for professionals and students who need a portable all-rounder.

Ready to use out of the box

The manufacturer seal is opened for professional installation and testing before dispatch, so the system arrives configured and verified. Integrated Intel Arc graphics share system memory, which simplifies driver management but limits upgrade options. Users should avoid forcing BIOS changes that disable the integrated GPU, as this can prevent the display from initialising.

Connectivity and display limits

The FHD+ panel delivers 1920 x 1200 resolution at 300 nits with anti-glare and low-blue-light features, suitable for indoor productivity but not for colour-critical print work. Wireless relies on Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5, which perform well in typical offices but can saturate in dense environments. The single ThunderBolt USB-C 3.2 port supports external displays and data, yet the lack of additional high-speed lanes restricts multi-monitor dock bandwidth.
