Purpose-built 15.6-inch touchscreen notebook

The Dell Inspiron 3520 pairs a 12th Generation Intel Core i5-1235U 10-core processor with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB SSD. Windows 11 Pro runs on a 1920 x 1080 Full HD touchscreen display. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics handles everyday visual tasks without a discrete GPU.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 10-core CPU reaches 4.40GHz turbo frequency from a 1.30GHz base, supported by 12MB L3 cache. Integrated graphics share system memory during extended sessions. Wi-Fi 802.11AC and Bluetooth 4.2 maintain connectivity while the chassis manages thermal output under continuous office or study loads.

Connectivity and daily use

Two USB 3.2 ports and one USB 2.0 port provide peripheral expansion alongside an HDMI output for external displays. The touchscreen enables direct interaction for presentations or creative work. Black chassis design suits professional environments where a traditional clamshell with touch capability is preferred.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the 10-core i5-1235U get when running all day?

The 10-core i5-1235U has a base frequency of 1.30 GHz and can boost up to 4.40 GHz. Under sustained load the integrated Intel UHD Graphics shares the same thermal envelope, so fan activity will increase but remains typical for a thin 15.6" chassis.

Which peripherals must I already own to use the 2 x USB 3.2 and 1 x USB 2.0 ports?

The laptop provides two USB 3.2 ports and one USB 2.0 port. Any standard USB-A keyboard, mouse, external drive or hub will work immediately; no proprietary cables or docks are required.

Will the HDMI output drive my older 1080p monitor alongside the 15.6" 1920 x 1080 touchscreen?

Yes. The HDMI port can mirror or extend the built-in 1920 x 1080 Full HD touchscreen to an external 1080p display. Intel UHD Graphics handles both outputs simultaneously at native resolution.
