Portable power for daily work

The Dell Inspiron 3520 15 is a new 15.6 inch FHD touchscreen laptop built around an Intel Core i7-1255U processor with 10 cores and 12 threads. It comes with 32GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB PCIe SSD. Windows 11 Home and an Office 2024 licence are pre-installed. The integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics handles everyday visual tasks.

Steady output on long sessions

The 1.2 GHz base clock and 4.7 GHz maximum turbo frequency allow the processor to raise performance when thermal headroom exists. Under sustained load the integrated graphics shares system memory, so the 32GB DDR4 pool helps keep frame rates stable during extended video playback or light creative work. The chassis dimensions of 14.11 x 9.27 x 0.83 inches and 3.65 pounds weight influence thermal capacity.

Ready to use with few surprises

The box is opened by engineers for the memory and storage upgrade before shipment, so the laptop arrives configured and tested. Ports include two USB 3.2 Type-A, one USB 2.0 Type-A, HDMI, an SD card reader and a headset jack. No backlit keyboard or fingerprint reader are fitted. Buyers who want a discrete GPU or a backlit keyboard should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the Intel Core i7-1255U run hot or loud when kept at 4.7 GHz for long periods?

The processor has a 15 W base power and can boost to 4.7 GHz; the 15.6 inch chassis uses a standard fan solution that spins up under sustained load but stays quiet during typical office work.

Which cables or peripherals do I need to connect an external monitor and wired network?

The laptop provides one HDMI port for video output and Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth for wireless; there is no built-in Ethernet jack, so a USB-to-Ethernet adapter is required for a wired link.

Can I keep using my older USB 2.0 flash drives and SD cards with the 3.2 and 2.0 Type-A ports?

Yes, the two USB 3.2 Type-A ports and the single USB 2.0 Type-A port are backward compatible with legacy flash drives, and the multi-format SD reader accepts standard SD cards.
