Core configuration for home and office

The Dell Inspiron 3520 pairs an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor with 32GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. The four-core chip reaches a 4.2 GHz turbo frequency and includes 8MB of L3 cache. Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics drive the 15.6-inch IPS panel at 1920 x 1080 resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. Windows 11 Home 64-bit comes pre-installed.

Upgraded memory and storage change daily

The 32GB DDR4 SO-DIMM configuration removes the typical 8GB or 16GB ceiling found on base models, allowing many browser tabs, office suites and background services to stay resident without swapping. The 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD replaces a slower hard drive or smaller solid-state module, cutting boot time and application launch latency. These two upgrades are the primary reason the system feels quicker than a stock configuration.

Carbon Black chassis with focused port selection

The laptop weighs 3.6lb and measures 14.11 IN wide, 9.27 IN deep and 0.74 IN high, fitting a standard 15.6-inch footprint. A 65W power supply charges the 3-cell 41 WHr battery. External connectivity consists of one USB 2.0 port, an HDMI output, an SD card reader and a headphone/microphone combo jack. Wireless uses 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. An integrated webcam and standard keyboard complete the built-in features.

Questions about this item

Can the 32 GB DDR4 memory be upgraded later?

The laptop ships with 32 GB DDR4 SODIMM installed; any future upgrade depends on the number of free slots inside the chassis, which is not detailed in the specifications.

What limits the Intel Core i5-1135G7 during long workloads?

The 15 W-class processor will hit its thermal ceiling first, causing clock speeds to drop from the 4.2 GHz turbo toward the 2.40 GHz base as the 41 WHr battery and 65 W adapter manage heat.

How loud and hot does the 15.6 inch 120 Hz model get under all-day use?

Integrated Iris Xe graphics and the 65 W power supply keep heat moderate, but the slim 0.74 inch chassis and 3.6 lb weight mean fan noise becomes noticeable during sustained loads.
