Purpose and audience

The Dell Inspiron 3520 is a 15.6 inch laptop built for everyday office work, study and web browsing. It runs Windows 11 Home on a quad-core Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor with a base speed of .9 GHz and a 4.2 GHz turbo. The 8 GB of memory and 128 GB SSD handle light multitasking and fast boot times for typical productivity tasks.

Bundled software impact

Windows 11 Home comes preinstalled so the machine is ready to use without extra licence steps. The integrated webcam supports video calls straight away. ExpressCharge can replenish the battery to 80 percent in 60 minutes, reducing the time you spend plugged in. Optional WIFI 6 improves wireless speed and reliability in busy environments when that module is fitted.

Interface and storage limits

The 128 GB solid-state drive offers limited space for large media libraries or multiple virtual machines, so external or cloud storage will be needed for heavy data workloads. Integrated graphics share system memory and are not suited to modern gaming or intensive 3D rendering. The 802.11ac wireless link caps throughput below newer Wi-Fi standards, and the non-touch 1920 x 1080 display does not support pen or finger input.

Questions about this item

Can the 128 GB SSD be replaced with a larger drive later?

The 128 GB SSD is the primary storage; swapping it for a higher-capacity drive is the standard way to add space.

What limits sustained performance when the i5-1135G7 runs at 4.2 GHz?

The integrated graphics share system memory and thermal headroom, so heavy GPU workloads throttle first.

How loud and hot does the laptop get during an all-day workload?

The design targets responsive yet quiet performance; ExpressCharge reaches 80 % in 60 minutes to reduce tether time.
