Portable 15.6-inch HD laptop for daily tasks

The Dell Inspiron 3593 is a new 15.6-inch laptop built around a 10th Generation Intel Core i3-1005G1 dual-core processor. It ships with 32GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB solid-state drive running Windows 10 Pro. The HD anti-glare display suits office work, study and general home use.

Thermals and power in normal use

The integrated Intel UHD graphics and low-power processor keep heat and fan noise modest during typical productivity loads. The 64-bit dual-core CPU operates at a base frequency of 1.20GHz with a turbo up to 3.6GHz. The 6MB L3 cache helps sustain responsive multitasking without excessive power draw.

Connectivity and expandability

Wireless 802.11AC and Bluetooth provide cable-free networking and peripheral support. Wired ports include USB and HDMI for external displays or accessories. The package includes the laptop, power adapter and power cord. Buyers who need a touchscreen, higher resolution panel or discrete graphics should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How is the 32GB DDR4 memory installed and what step do people get wrong?

The 32GB DDR4 is soldered to the board and cannot be upgraded; the common mistake is buying extra modules expecting open slots.

What maintenance will the 256GB SSD need later?

No scheduled maintenance is required; keep 10–15% free space and run Windows TRIM periodically for sustained write performance.

What limit appears first under sustained load on the i3-1005G1?

The 15 W dual-core CPU hits its thermal ceiling before the 3.40 GHz turbo can be held, so clocks drop to base frequency.
