Business laptop for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 14-7490 is a 14.0" Windows 10 Pro notebook built for everyday office work and travel. It ships with a quad-core i7-8650U processor at 1.90GHz and 16GB of memory. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics handles standard productivity and video playback.

1366 x 768 non-touch display

The single specification that decides fit is the 1366 x 768 non-touch panel. Text and spreadsheets are readable at this size, but the resolution limits multi-window work and rules out precise colour tasks. Buyers who need a sharper screen or touch input should look elsewhere.

Sustained productivity with integrated graphics

Under continuous load the quad-core CPU and Intel UHD Graphics share the thermal budget of the 0.70" chassis. Performance settles to a steady level suitable for document editing, web browsing and video conferencing. Heavy rendering or gaming workloads will throttle quickly.

Questions about this item

How does the quad-core 1.90 GHz processor perform in daily workloads?

The four cores share 8 MB of L3 cache and run at 1.90 GHz, giving responsive multitasking for office apps and web browsing within the 16 GB memory ceiling.

What external displays can the single HDMI port drive?

One HDMI output supports an external monitor; the integrated Intel UHD Graphics handles the 1366 x 768 internal panel plus one additional screen at typical office resolutions.

Will the 0.70 inch thickness fit in a standard 14 inch laptop sleeve?

At 0.70 x 13.03 x 8.7 inches the chassis matches the classic 14.0 inch ultrabook footprint, so it slides into most sleeves made for that size class.
