Core specification

This Dell Latitude 3590 laptop runs on an Intel Core i3-8130U dual-core processor at 2.2 GHz with 8 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD. The 15.6 inch display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 and is driven by Intel HD Graphics. It includes a card reader, one HDMI port and a non-backlit keyboard. Battery life reaches up to 8 hours.

Who this suits

It suits office workers and students who need a reliable Windows machine for web browsing, document editing and video calls. The light chassis and long battery support all-day mobile use. Buyers who want more storage, a higher resolution screen, a backlit keyboard or dedicated graphics for creative work should look at something else.

Deciding specification

The 1366 x 768 panel is the single specification that decides fit. Text and spreadsheets remain readable, but the pixel density limits multitasking and makes the laptop unsuitable for design, photo editing or any task that needs a sharper canvas.
