Latitude 5409 business ultrabook

The Dell Latitude 5409 is a 14-inch ultrabook built for mobile professionals who need a quad-core Intel Core i7 processor and Windows 11 Pro in a thin chassis. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB M.2 2242 SSD. The non-touch FHD display and integrated Intel UHD Graphics suit office productivity and video calls.

1 TB SSD and 8 GB DDR4 capacity

The single 1 TB drive provides ample room for documents, local databases and offline files without relying on cloud sync. Memory runs at 2133 MHz across two soldered 4 GB modules; both slots are occupied, so expansion requires replacing the existing pair up to the 32 GB ceiling. Heavy multitasking or virtual machines will hit the 8 GB limit before the storage fills.

Thermals and 65-watt power profile

A 65-watt AC adapter powers the system, reflecting the low thermal design of the quad-core U-series chip and integrated graphics. Under typical office loads the chassis stays quiet and surface temperatures remain comfortable for lap use. Sustained multi-core workloads will trigger fan spin-up, but the compact frame limits sustained turbo performance.

Questions about this item

Will my existing DDR4 2133 memory modules work alongside the 8 GB already installed in the Latitude 5409?

Both memory slots are occupied by 4 GB DDR4 2133 modules, so you would need to remove one or both to add your own DDR4 2133 sticks.

How can I confirm the 1 TB M.2 2242 SSD is recognised at full capacity after first boot?

Open Windows 11 Pro Settings, go to System then Storage, and verify the drive shows approximately 1 TB of usable space.

Does the box include the 65-watt AC adapter or must I buy it separately?

The 65-watt AC adapter is included in the box with the laptop.
