Business ultrabook with quad-core i7

The Dell Latitude 7400 is a 14-inch touchscreen ultrabook built for mobile professionals. It pairs an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with 32 GB of DDR4 2133 memory and a 1 TB M.2 2242 SSD. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed on the 1920 x 1080 FHD display.

Upgrade from dual-core or 8 GB systems

This configuration replaces older dual-core ultrabooks or machines limited to 8 GB or 16 GB of soldered memory. The jump is worth it when your workload demands 32 GB of dual-channel RAM for virtual machines, large spreadsheets or heavy multitasking without paging. The 1 TB drive also removes the need for external storage on the road.

Check Thunderbolt 3 dock and charger needs

Verify that your existing dock or monitor uses Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C, because this model provides one Thunderbolt 3 port with DisplayPort output and two USB 3.1 ports. The 65-watt AC adapter is included, but spare chargers must match that connector and wattage. Both memory slots are populated, so no further RAM expansion is possible.

Questions about this item

Does the 14.0 inch touchscreen chassis accept a standard M.2 2242 SSD for storage upgrades?

Yes, the storage spec lists one drive up to 1TB M.2 2242 SSD, so that form factor fits the slot.

How is the 32GB DDR4 2133 memory installed, and what mistake should I avoid?

It comes as 16 GB x 2 filling both slots; do not buy extra modules because no slots remain free.

When will the 65-watt AC adapter typically need replacement?

Replace the adapter if the laptop stops charging or the cable shows fraying after extended daily use.
