Rugged 14-inch FHD touch laptop

The Dell Latitude 5420 Rugged is a 14-inch laptop built to MIL-STD-810G and IP53 standards for harsh environments. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with a 3.60 GHz turbo frequency. The outdoor-readable IPS touchscreen delivers 1000 nits brightness at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

16 GB DDR4 memory and 256 GB SSD capacity

The system ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB solid-state drive, sufficient for office applications and field data collection. Memory can be expanded to 32 GB and storage to 1 TB via the quick-release M.2 slot when workloads grow. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 uses shared system memory for display output.

Upgrade from standard business notebooks

This unit replaces conventional laptops that cannot survive dust, water exposure or extreme temperatures. The 4G LTE modem keeps field teams connected where Wi-Fi is unavailable. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance or larger screen real estate should consider other form factors.

Questions about this item

Will the 14" 1000-nit touchscreen and 4G LTE work with my existing dock that only has USB-A and HDMI?

The laptop provides USB-A ports and an HDMI output, so video and data will pass through that dock; the 4G LTE and touchscreen are internal and do not depend on the dock.

How can I confirm the Intel UHD 620 graphics and 60 Hz panel are running correctly after first boot?

Open Windows Display Settings to verify 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz, then run dxdiag to confirm the UHD 620 adapter is listed with shared memory.

Does the box include a stylus or SIM card for the 10-finger touchscreen and 4G LTE, or must I buy them separately?

A stylus and SIM card are not included; you will need to purchase a compatible active pen and a nano-SIM with a data plan separately.
