Built for field work

The Dell Latitude 5424 is a rugged 14.0 inch laptop designed for professionals who operate in tough environments. Its chassis meets durability standards for shock, vibration and temperature extremes. The integrated touchscreen supports gloved operation, making it practical for logistics, utilities and public-safety teams. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and ready for enterprise management tools.

Ports that keep you connected

Two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and one USB 3.0 Type-C port with power and display support handle modern peripherals. A native RS-232 serial port connects directly to legacy industrial equipment without adapters. Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet, HDMI and a universal audio jack cover wired networking, external displays and headsets. The Qualcomm QCA61x4A 802.11ac dual-band wireless adapter with Bluetooth 4.1 provides cable-free connectivity. One USB-A port features a closeable door to protect the connector when a receiver is inserted.

Cool and quiet for long shifts

The Intel Core i5-8350U processor runs at 1.70 GHz with UHD 620 integrated graphics that use shared system memory. This low-power design keeps heat output modest, so the internal fan stays quiet during typical office or field tasks. The 16 GB DDR4 memory (expandable to 32 GB across two slots) and 256 GB SSD ensure responsive performance without spinning drives. A lithium-ion battery is guaranteed to hold a charge, supporting mobile work away from mains power.

Questions about this item

How much DDR4 memory can the Latitude 5424 accept in total?

The laptop supports up to 32 GB of DDR4 across its two memory slots, with 16 GB already installed.

What thermal and acoustic behaviour should I expect from the UHD 620 graphics and i5-8350U during all-day workloads?

Integrated UHD 620 graphics share system memory and run passively cooled; the rugged chassis manages heat without a high-RPM fan, so noise stays low even under sustained business loads.

Which power adapter is required to run the USB Type-C port for charging and display output?

The included power adapter connects to the barrel jack; the single USB 3.0 Type-C port supports power delivery and video, so no extra dock or proprietary charger is needed for basic USB-C charging or external monitors.
