Rugged business laptop

The Dell Latitude 5424 is a fully rugged 14.0 inch touchscreen laptop built for field work and mobile professionals. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i5-8350U processor with 32GB of DDR4 memory. The 1TB SSD provides fast, solid-state storage for large project files and applications.

32GB memory at maximum capacity

This unit ships with 32GB of DDR4 memory installed across two slots, which matches the system maximum of 32GB. No further RAM upgrades are possible, so buyers who need more memory must choose a different platform. The integrated UHD 620 graphics use shared system memory for video tasks.

Passive cooling and modest power

The low-power i5-8350U runs at 1.70 GHz and relies on the rugged chassis for heat dissipation without loud fans. Typical office workloads stay quiet and cool, while sustained loads may warm the magnesium-alloy case. The included power adapter supports the system and charges the lithium-ion battery.

Questions about this item

What does the 1.70 GHz base clock mean for everyday workloads on this i5-8350U?

The 1.70 GHz base clock on the Intel Core i5-8350U provides steady performance for office applications, web browsing and light multitasking; the dual-core processor can raise its frequency under load while the 32 GB DDR4 memory keeps multiple programs responsive.

What does the USB 3.0 Type-C port support on the Latitude 5424?

The single USB 3.0 Type-C port handles data, power delivery and video output, so it can charge the laptop or drive an external display without a separate dock.

What are the exact dimensions I need to check for a bag or mount?

The chassis measures 13.660 cm long, 9.630 cm wide and 1.750 cm high, weighing 5.5 kg, so any sleeve or mount must accommodate those outer dimensions.
