Rugged 14-inch business laptop

The Dell Latitude 5424 is a ruggedised 14-inch laptop built for field work and mobile professionals. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i5-8350U processor with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB solid-state drive. The 1920 x 1080 non-touch display uses an anti-glare WVA panel. Integrated UHD 620 graphics handle everyday business applications.

Ports and connectivity to verify

This unit provides two USB 3.0 Type-A ports plus a third Type-A port with a closeable door, one USB 3.0 Type-C port that supports power and display output, a native RS-232 serial port, HDMI, RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet and a universal audio jack. Wireless connectivity uses a Qualcomm QCA61x4A 802.11ac dual-band adapter with Bluetooth 4.1. Confirm your peripherals and docks match these interfaces before ordering.

Thermals noise and power draw

The rugged chassis is designed to dissipate heat from the 1.70 GHz processor without exotic cooling, so fan noise stays low during typical office workloads. Shared system memory for the UHD 620 graphics keeps power draw modest, helping the lithium-ion battery hold a charge through a normal workday. The 5.5 kg weight reflects the reinforced build rather than a high-wattage thermal solution.
