Professional Workstation

The Dell Latitude 5520 is a 15.6 inch touchscreen notebook built for professionals who need a responsive display and reliable daily performance. It ships new with Windows 10 Pro and an Intel Core i7 1185G7 quad-core processor running at 3 GHz. The system includes 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and a 512 GB M.2 SSD for fast boot and application loading.

Sustained Workloads

Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory, so extended rendering or heavy multitasking will draw from the 16 GB DDR4 pool rather than dedicated video memory. The chassis manages heat for typical office loads, but continuous high CPU utilisation may trigger throttling earlier than a discrete graphics design. Thunderbolt 4 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports maintain throughput during long data transfers.

Touchscreen Decider

The 1920 x 1080 IPS touchscreen is the single specification that determines suitability; buyers who do not need pen or finger input gain no benefit from the digitiser layer. Users requiring a non-reflective matte panel or higher colour coverage for colour-critical work should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the Latitude 5520 get when the Core i7-1185G7 runs at 3 GHz all day?

The 11th Gen Core i7-1185G7 quad-core processor has a base speed of 3 GHz; actual fan noise and surface temperature depend on workload and ambient conditions.

Which cables or docks must I already own to use the Thunderbolt 4 port on this Latitude 5520?

A Thunderbolt 4 certified cable or dock is required to use the Thunderbolt 4 port at its full capability; standard USB-C cables will operate at USB 3.2 Gen 1 speeds.

Will my older USB 3.0 peripherals work with the USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports on this Latitude 5520?

Yes, the USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports are backward compatible with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 devices, so existing peripherals will function normally.
