Professional mobile workstation

The Dell Latitude 5520 is a 15.6-inch laptop built for professionals who need reliable performance on the move. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i5 1135G7 quad-core processor at 2.4 GHz with 8 MB cache. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics handle everyday visual tasks. The system ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVMe SSD.

Connectivity and expansion

Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports provide flexible peripheral and display connections. A full-size HDMI output adds a simple external monitor option. Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g and Bluetooth 5.1 cover wired and wireless networking. A microSD card reader allows quick media transfer without extra adapters.

Memory and storage limits

The 32 GB DDR4 configuration matches the maximum memory the platform supports, so no further RAM upgrades are possible. The 256 GB NVMe drive offers fast boot and application load times, yet capacity may feel tight for large media libraries or multiple virtual machines. Buyers who need more storage should plan for an external drive or internal replacement.

Questions about this item

Does the 15.6-inch HD display with 1366 x 768 resolution limit visibility when working with multiple windows side by side?

The 1366 x 768 resolution on a 15.6-inch panel provides limited screen real estate, so fitting two full-width application windows side by side will feel cramped.

How loud or hot does the laptop get when the Intel Core i5 1135G7 runs at 2.40 GHz all day?

The quad-core Tiger Lake chip shares a thin chassis with integrated Iris Xe graphics; sustained loads will spin the fan audibly and warm the keyboard deck.

Which cables or docks must I already own to connect external monitors through the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports?

You need a Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C cable that carries DisplayPort Alt Mode, or a Thunderbolt 3 dock, to drive displays from the two USB-C ports.
