Ready for mobile work

The Dell Latitude 5520 is a new 15.6 inch laptop built for professionals who need a reliable Windows 10 Pro machine. It pairs a quad-core Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor with 4 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD. The 1920 x 1080 non-touch display and integrated graphics handle everyday office tasks and video calls.

Steady performance on battery

The 4.2 GHz turbo boost delivers quick responsiveness when loading applications or switching between browser tabs. Integrated graphics share system memory, so sustained heavy workloads will run within the thermal envelope of the slim chassis without discrete GPU heat. The 802.11ac wireless connection keeps cloud-based tools accessible during long sessions away from a desk.

Upgrade from older ultraportables

This unit replaces ageing 13 inch notebooks that struggle with modern multitasking and lack modern docking ports. The dual Thunderbolt 4 ports add high-speed data and display output through a single cable. Buyers who need more than 4 GB of RAM for virtual machines or large datasets should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the i5-1135G7 get when running at 4.2 GHz all day?

The 4-core i5-1135G7 reaches 4.2 GHz under load; integrated graphics share the same thermal envelope, so sustained boost depends on the chassis cooling capacity.

What peripherals must I already own to use the Thunderbolt 4 ports for video and charging?

You need Thunderbolt 4 or USB-C cables and monitors that accept DisplayPort alt-mode over USB-C with Power Delivery support.

Will my older USB 3.0 dock work with the two Thunderbolt 4 ports on this Latitude 5520?

Yes, Thunderbolt 4 ports are backward compatible with USB 3.2 and USB 3.0 devices, so an existing dock will function at USB speeds.
