Built for harsh environments

The Dell Latitude 7220 Rugged Extreme is an 11.6-inch tablet running Windows 11 Home. An Intel Core i3-8145U processor reaches 3.90 GHz, paired with 16 GB of LPDDR3 memory and a 256 GB NVMe solid-state drive. The 1920 x 1080 Gorilla Glass touchscreen supports glove input, and the unit weighs 1.28 kg for field mobility.

Field workers needing glove touch

Teams operating in dust, vibration or temperature extremes gain a sealed, MIL-STD tested chassis with a daylight-readable 11.6-inch panel. Buyers who require discrete graphics performance, larger screen real estate or a keyboard permanently attached should evaluate other form factors.

16 GB soldered LPDDR3 memory

The platform integrates 16 GB of non-upgradable LPDDR3 RAM, which fixes the multitasking ceiling for the service life of the device. Confirm that this capacity satisfies your application set before purchase.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 16 GB LPDDR3 version or the 8 GB one for field work?

The 16 GB LPDDR3 option keeps more apps and browser tabs open without swapping, which matters when you cannot reboot a rugged tablet in the field.

What does the 3.90 GHz boost clock actually deliver inside this 11.6" chassis?

The i3-8145U hits 3.90 GHz in short bursts for single-thread tasks, then settles lower under sustained load because the fanless rugged design limits cooling.

How fast is the NVMe M.2 256 GB drive in daily use?

The NVMe M.2 256 GB SSD provides fast boot and app launches; its exact throughput depends on the drive Dell sourced for this 7220 unit.
