Compact business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7290 is a 12.5-inch laptop built for professionals who need a lightweight Windows 10 Pro machine. It runs on an Intel Core i7-8650U processor with four cores and 8MB of L2 cache. The system includes 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB M.2 SATA SSD for storage. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles the 1366 x 768 HD display.

Durable unibody with versatile ports

A premium unibody chassis gives the laptop a smooth exterior and solid structural performance for frequent travel. Two USB 3.0 ports and a Thunderbolt USB-C connection support docking and high-speed peripherals. An HDMI output connects to projectors or external displays during client meetings. Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 provide wired and wireless networking. A microSD card reader adds removable-media flexibility.

Ready-to-use package

The box contains the laptop, its charger and the installed battery so the system works immediately. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-loaded for business features such as BitLocker and domain join. The 1TB M.2 SATA SSD delivers fast boot and application loading while conserving power. Buyers who need a touchscreen, a higher-resolution panel or discrete graphics should consider other models.

Questions about this item

What speed does the Thunderbolt USB-C port cap at in practice?

The Thunderbolt USB-C port runs at Thunderbolt 3 speeds, supporting high-bandwidth peripherals and external displays.

What physical clearance does the 1 TB M.2 SATA SSD need inside the chassis?

The drive uses the M.2 2280 form factor and a SATA key, so it fits the dedicated M.2 slot without a 2.5-inch bay or caddy.

How is Windows 10 Pro installed on the 1 TB M.2 SATA SSD at first boot?

Windows 10 Pro x64 ships pre-loaded; the out-of-box experience only asks for region, keyboard, network and account choices.
