Product identity

The Dell Latitude 7389 is a 13.3-inch 2-in-1 laptop built around a 7th Gen Intel Core i5-7300U processor running at 2.6 GHz up to 3.5 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of onboard DDR4 memory and a 256 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. The Full HD touchscreen uses Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and supports an optional active pen. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed.

Who it suits

This convertible fits professionals who want a lightweight device that switches between laptop, tent, stand and tablet modes for meetings or travel. The spill-resistant keyboard and narrow bezel help in mobile workspaces. Buyers who need more than 8 GB of memory, a discrete graphics card or a larger display should look at something else. The fixed RAM and integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 limit heavy creative or engineering workloads.

Build fit

The system provides two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port, HDMI and a headset jack for peripherals and external displays. Wireless connectivity uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. The compact chassis frees desk space and bag capacity while the 256 GB NVMe drive keeps boot and application load times short. An optional IR camera enables Windows Hello facial recognition.

Questions about this item

Does the 256 GB NVMe SSD use an M.2 slot so I can keep my existing drive?

The 256 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD occupies the M.2 slot, so an additional M.2 drive would require a second slot not described in the specifications.

Will my USB 3.0 peripherals work with the USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 ports?

USB 3.1 Gen 1 is electrically identical to USB 3.0, so existing USB 3.0 devices will operate at their rated speeds on both the Type-A and Type-C ports.

How can I verify the Intel HD Graphics 620 is active after installing Windows 10 Pro?

Open Device Manager, expand Display adapters and confirm Intel HD Graphics 620 is listed without a warning icon; the driver version should also appear in the Intel Graphics Command Center.
