Questions about this item

Does the 1.9 GHz i7-8650U throttle under sustained all-core load?

The 8th Gen quad-core processor reaches 4.2 GHz with Turbo Boost; sustained speeds depend on the thermal solution built into this 13.3" chassis.

How loud is the fan when the Intel UHD Graphics 620 and i7-8650U run all day?

Fan behaviour varies with workload; light tasks keep it quiet while heavy multi-threaded work spins it up to manage heat in the slim convertible body.

What must I already own to use the USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port with DisplayPort video?

A monitor or dock with a DisplayPort input and a USB-C cable that carries DisplayPort Alt Mode will drive external video from this port.
