Business convertible laptop

The Dell Latitude 7400 is a 14.0 inch convertible laptop with a 1920 x 1080 FHD touchscreen. An Intel Core i7-8665U quad-core processor reaches up to 4.80 GHz with an 8MB cache and a 15W TDP. The system runs Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and includes 8GB of 2666MHz DDR4 memory plus a 256GB PCIe M.2 NVMe solid state drive. Intel UHD Graphics handles visual output on the anti-glare panel.

Ports and expansion for mobile work

A single Thunderbolt 3 port supplies Power Delivery and DisplayPort video alongside one HDMI output. USB 3.1 Gen 1 and a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Powershare port handle peripherals and charging. A uSD 4.0 card reader, universal audio jack, Noble Wedge lock slot and a 7.4 mm DC-in barrel round out the connectivity. The aluminium back cover keeps the chassis rigid for frequent transport.

Efficient thermals and quiet operation

The 15W processor is designed for thin-and-light thermal envelopes, so fan noise stays low during typical office workloads. Intel UHD Graphics adds minimal heat compared with discrete solutions. Power draw remains modest under normal business use, helping the battery last through a working day. The convertible hinge allows tablet or tent modes without blocking ventilation.

Questions about this item

What is the base and maximum turbo frequency of the Intel Core i7-8665U processor?

The processor runs at a 1.90 GHz base frequency and can reach up to 4.80 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology.

How loud does the cooling system get during extended workloads?

The 15 W processor is passively cooled in light tasks; under sustained load the fan spins up but remains within typical business-class acoustic limits.

Which video adapter is required to connect an external monitor via the Thunderbolt 3 port?

The Thunderbolt 3 port carries DisplayPort alt mode, so a USB-C to DisplayPort or USB-C to HDMI adapter will drive an external display.
