Business laptop with 14.0" screen

The Dell Latitude 7420 is a 14.0 inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor running at 3.00 GHz. It comes with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, running Windows 10 Pro. This configuration suits professionals who need a portable work machine with a built-in fingerprint reader, webcam and backlit keyboard.

Check ports and OS requirements

Before ordering, verify that the available ports match your peripherals and docking needs, as the specification list does not detail every connector. Confirm that Windows 10 Pro meets your software licensing and security policies, especially if your organisation requires a newer operating system. The 512GB SSD and 16GB RAM are fixed, so ensure this capacity fits your workload.

Thermals, noise and power in daily use

In typical office tasks the cooling system keeps the chassis comfortable and fan noise stays low. Heavier workloads will raise surface temperatures and spin the fans faster, but the system remains within normal operating limits for a business ultraportable. Power draw scales with CPU load, allowing reasonable battery life during mixed use.
