Latitude 7420 i7-1185G7 laptop

The Dell Latitude 7420 is a 14.0" business laptop built around an 11th Generation Intel Core i7-1185G7 quad-core processor with 12M cache, base 3.0GHz and turbo up to 4.8GHz. It ships with Windows 11 Pro, 16 GB of onboard LPDDR4x 4267 MHz memory and a 256 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics drive the 1920 x 1080 IPS display at 60 Hz.

Installation and common issues

The system arrives fully assembled with the operating system pre-installed, so initial setup follows the standard Windows 11 out-of-box experience. Memory is soldered to the board and cannot be upgraded or replaced. The M.2 SSD slot is accessible after removing the base cover, but opening the chassis may reveal the minor scratches and dent noted on the exterior. No optical drive or wired LAN port is present.

Pre-purchase checks

Verify that 16 GB of fixed memory meets your workload requirements, as no expansion is possible. Confirm the 256 GB NVMe capacity is sufficient, or plan for an external storage solution. The laptop relies on Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 2x2 160MHz and Bluetooth 5.1 for connectivity; ensure your environment supports these wireless standards. The 14" FHD non-touch screen suits mobile professionals who do not need pen input.
