Business laptop for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14.0 inch laptop built for people who travel or meet clients regularly. It runs Windows 10 Pro on a dual-core Intel Core i7-6600U processor at 2.6 GHz with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 128GB SATA M.2 SSD. The non-touch FHD screen shows 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Connectivity limits of the built-in ports

Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C provides one high-speed lane for docks or external storage but cannot drive two 4K displays simultaneously. HDMI output is restricted to 1080p at 60 Hz by the integrated Intel HD Graphics 520. Gigabit Ethernet tops out at 1000 Mbps while 802.11 ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 handle wireless links.

Storage capacity decides fit

The 128GB SATA M.2 SSD holds the operating system and essential applications but leaves little room for large media libraries or offline project files. Buyers who need more local capacity should plan for external drives or cloud storage.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 128 GB M.2 SATA drive or look for a larger capacity?

The 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD is the only capacity listed; if you need more space for files or applications you would have to add storage yourself.

What does the 2.6 GHz Core i7-6600U actually deliver in daily work?

The dual-core Skylake chip with 4 MB cache and Intel HD Graphics 520 handles office multitasking and web browsing smoothly, but it is not built for heavy rendering or gaming.

What can the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port really do on this laptop?

The single Thunderbolt 3 USB-C connector supports data, video and charging through one cable, letting you dock to monitors or peripherals without extra adapters.
