Dell Latitude 7480 14" business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14.0" business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.6 GHz with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. It runs Windows 11 Pro and uses integrated Intel HD Graphics 520. The non-touch FHD display resolves at 1920 x 1080. It suits mobile professionals who need a compact, durable machine for office applications, web work and video calls.

Installation and common issues

The laptop arrives with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed on the NVMe drive, so first boot completes in minutes with only language, network and account choices required. Driver support for the Skylake platform is mature, though Thunderbolt 3 firmware updates may be needed for some docks or external GPUs. The soldered memory cannot be upgraded, and the single M.2 slot limits storage expansion to one drive. Battery wear varies by previous usage; a fresh cell restores full mobile runtime.

Capacity and headroom

The 16GB DDR4 and 512GB NVMe combination handles multitasking with large spreadsheets, dozens of browser tabs and local VMs comfortably. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 drives the internal 1920 x 1080 panel and one external display via HDMI or Thunderbolt 3 at 60 Hz, but it cannot sustain playable frame rates in modern 3D titles or heavy GPU compute workloads. The dual-core CPU becomes the bottleneck for sustained all-core tasks such as video encoding or large compiles.
