Dell Latitude 7480 14-inch business laptop

This Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14-inch business laptop built for professionals who need a portable Windows 11 Pro machine. It combines a 6th generation Intel Core i7-6600U processor with 32GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. The non-touch Full HD display and integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handle everyday office workloads.

512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD

The single specification that decides fit is the 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 solid-state drive. It provides fast boot and application loading while keeping power draw low for mobile use. Buyers who need more storage capacity or a second drive bay should look elsewhere because this chassis offers only the single M.2 slot.

Sustained thermal behaviour

Under sustained load the dual-core i7-6600U and integrated graphics share a compact thermal solution designed for thin-and-light mobility. The base clock of 2.6GHz can be maintained for typical productivity bursts, but extended heavy compute tasks will trigger throttling as temperatures rise. Fan noise remains moderate during normal office work but becomes audible during prolonged maximum utilisation.

Questions about this item

How does the Intel Core i7-6600U perform in a 14" laptop chassis?

The dual-core 2.6GHz Skylake processor with 4MB cache handles office workloads, web browsing and light multitasking within the thermal limits of a thin 14.0" business chassis.

What can the Thunderbolt 3 port actually do on this model?

The single Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port carries data, DisplayPort video and power delivery for docks or external monitors.

What physical storage upgrades does the M.2 slot allow?

The installed 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD occupies the primary slot; a second M.2 device would require checking the service manual for an open socket.
