Latitude 7480 14" business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14.0 inch business laptop built around an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.6 GHz. It ships with 32GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD for fast boot and load times. Windows 10 Home is pre-installed on the system.

Suits mobile professionals needing legacy ports

This unit suits professionals who need a compact chassis with HDMI output, a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port, three USB 3.0 ports and Gigabit Ethernet for docked or travelling workflows. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles office applications and video playback without a discrete GPU. Buyers who need a touchscreen for pen input, a dedicated graphics card for creative rendering, or more than 256GB of internal storage should look at something else.

32GB DDR4 soldered memory configuration

The 32GB DDR4 memory complement is the specification that decides fit: it provides ample headroom for heavy multitasking and virtual machines but cannot be upgraded after purchase. Verify that this capacity matches your workload before ordering.

Questions about this item

What size and keying does the internal M.2 slot accept for the 256GB NVMe drive?

The laptop uses a single M.2 2280 slot keyed for NVMe PCIe; the factory 256GB drive occupies it, so any replacement must match that length and key.

How do I reinstall Windows after swapping the NVMe SSD?

Create a USB installer for Windows 10 or 11, boot from it, delete the old partitions on the new drive, and let setup create a fresh partition; the step often missed is downloading the Dell Thunderbolt 3 and Intel HD Graphics 520 drivers beforehand.

Which user-replaceable parts will need attention over time?

The internal battery and the 256GB NVMe SSD are the main consumables; the 32GB DDR4 memory is soldered and not upgradeable, and the Intel HD Graphics 520 shares system RAM so no separate VRAM exists.
