Business ultraportable

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 13.9 inch laptop built for professionals who need a compact Windows device. An Intel Core i7-8650U processor running at 1.90GHz handles office applications and multitasking. It ships with Windows 10 Home and a free upgrade path to Windows 11 Pro. The 1920 x 1080 non-touch display keeps the chassis thin and light.

Simple memory upgrade

Two SODIMM slots are fitted and one is already populated with the 8 GB module, leaving a single slot open for expansion up to 32 GB total. The 512GB NVMe drive is user-replaceable, though accessing it requires removing the bottom cover. No specialised tools are needed beyond a small Phillips screwdriver. Take care not to overtighten the cover screws during reassembly.

Steady office throughput

Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1080p panel without a discrete GPU, so sustained loads stay within the ultra-low-power envelope. The i7-8650U maintains its base clocks during long document, browser and video-conferencing sessions. Thermals remain manageable in the slim chassis because the workload rarely saturates all four cores. Battery life benefits from the integrated graphics design.
