Dell Latitude 7480 i7-6600U

The Dell Latitude 7480 is a 13.9-inch business laptop powered by a Core i7-6600U processor running at 2.60 GHz. It comes with 16 GB of memory and a 256 GB solid-state drive. Windows 10 Home is pre-installed with an upgrade path to Windows 11 Pro available. The system uses integrated Intel HD Graphics 520.

Upgrade from older dual-core ultraportables

This unit replaces slower dual-core ultraportables that struggle with modern multitasking. The jump is worth it when your current machine cannot keep 16 GB of memory and a fast 256 GB SSD fed by a 2.60 GHz processor. Buyers who need discrete graphics or more than 256 GB of internal storage should look elsewhere.

Sustained office workloads

Under sustained office workloads the Core i7-6600U maintains its 2.60 GHz clock while the 16 GB memory buffer absorbs heavy browser and spreadsheet use. The 256 GB SSD keeps swap operations fast during long sessions. Integrated HD Graphics 520 handles typical business displays without thermal throttling. The lithium polymer battery supports mobile work between charges.

Questions about this item

What are the dimensions of the 13.9 inch chassis for bag fit?

The laptop has a 13.9 inch screen and weighs between 3 and 3.9 lbs. Check the manufacturer specification sheet for exact width, depth and height measurements before buying a sleeve.

How do I install the Windows 11 Pro upgrade on the Windows 10 Home system?

Open Settings, go to Update & Security, select Activation and enter the Windows 11 Pro product key. The common mistake is trying a clean install without activating the existing Windows 10 Home licence first.

When will the 16 GB memory or 256 GB drive need replacement?

The 16 GB memory is soldered and not user-replaceable. The 256 GB drive can be swapped later; replace it if SMART diagnostics report reallocated sectors or if capacity becomes insufficient.
