Mobile workstation for business users

The Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14-inch ultrabook built around a 6th Gen Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.6 GHz with a 3.4 GHz turbo. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB SSD, driven by integrated Intel HD Graphics 520. Windows 10 Pro comes preinstalled for immediate deployment in managed environments.

Fan noise and battery life in office use

The low-power U-series chip keeps thermals modest during typical productivity workloads such as document editing, video calls and browser sessions. Fan activity remains subdued under these conditions, helping the 14.0-inch anti-glare display stay comfortable for long periods. Power draw stays low enough to support a full workday away from a desk charger.

Unibody chassis with modern port selection

A magnesium-alloy unibody with soft-touch paint delivers a rigid, lightweight frame at 3.01 lbs. Video output is handled through HDMI and DisplayPort via USB-C, while wireless connectivity relies on 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.2. The non-touch FHD panel includes an integrated webcam for Windows Hello facial recognition where configured.

Questions about this item

How is the 1TB SSD installed and which slot mistake do buyers make?

The drive fits the internal M.2 slot; the error is buying a 2.5-inch SATA drive instead of the M.2 form factor this chassis accepts.

What maintenance will the 8GB DDR4 memory need later?

The single SODIMM can be replaced with up to 32GB DDR4 if more capacity is required; no other memory upkeep is needed.

What limit appears first during sustained loads on the i7-6600U?

The dual-core 2.6GHz base clock with 3.4GHz turbo drops to base once the cooling saturates, capping long-running performance.
