Mobile workstation with Thunderbolt 3

The Latitude 7480 pairs a 14.0 inch FHD non-touch display with an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor, 32 GB DDR4 memory and a 128 GB SATA M.2 SSD. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 drives the 1920 x 1080 panel and external monitors via HDMI or the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port.

Suited to mobile professionals who need legacy ports

Travellers who rely on full-size HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, three USB 3.0 ports and a microSD reader will find the connectivity they expect. Buyers who want a touchscreen, a larger screen, a discrete GPU or more internal storage should look at other models.

128 GB SATA M.2 SSD capacity

The single 128 GB SATA M.2 drive determines how many applications and local files you can keep on board. Users with large media libraries or virtual-machine images will need external or cloud storage to supplement the built-in capacity.

Questions about this item

What size M.2 SATA SSD does the Latitude 7480 accept for storage upgrades?

The laptop uses a 128GB M.2 SATA drive. Any 2280-length M.2 SATA SSD will fit the slot and work with the Intel Core i7-6600U platform.

Which screw secures the M.2 drive, and what mistake do installers make?

A single M2×3 mm screw holds the drive. The common error is tightening it before the drive is fully seated, which can crack the PCB or leave the connector unlatched.

Which user-replaceable parts will need attention after several years of daily use?

The 32GB DDR4 memory is soldered and not replaceable. The M.2 SATA SSD and the internal battery are the only components designed for later swap-out.
