14-inch Latitude 7480 with i7-6600U

The Dell Latitude 7480 is a 14-inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U processor. It comes with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD for fast storage. The Full HD display runs at 1920 x 1080 resolution, and Windows 10 Home is pre-installed.

Suits mobile professionals; not for heavy graphics

This unit suits professionals who need a compact, durable notebook for travel, client meetings and general office productivity. HDMI and Thunderbolt 3 ports handle external displays and docking. Buyers who want a dedicated graphics card for 3D rendering or gaming should look elsewhere, as the system relies on integrated Intel HD Graphics 520.

1 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD decides fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the 1 TB NVMe PCIe M.2 solid-state drive. It provides high-capacity, low-latency storage for operating system, applications and large project files. If your workflow demands more internal capacity or a secondary drive bay, this configuration will not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

How hot and loud does the Core i7-6600U get when the laptop runs all day?

The 2.6 GHz dual-core Skylake processor uses an integrated Intel HD Graphics 520, so typical office workloads keep fan noise low and surface temperatures comfortable without a discrete GPU adding heat.

What cables or peripherals must I already own to use the Thunderbolt 3 port and the HDMI output?

You need a USB-C Thunderbolt 3 cable or dock for the Thunderbolt port and a standard HDMI cable for the HDMI port; the laptop itself ships with only the charger and battery.

Will my older USB 3.0 devices and a MicroSD card work with the three USB ports and the card reader on this Latitude 7480?

Yes, the three USB 3.0 ports are backward compatible with older USB gear and the built-in MicroSD reader accepts standard cards.
