Business ultraportable for mobile professionals

The Latitude 7490 is a 14.0 inch laptop built around a quad-core Intel Core i7-8650U running at 1.9 GHz with Turbo up to 4.2 GHz. It carries 8 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. The 1920 x 1080 non-touch display and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 suit office applications, video calls and light content review on the move.

Windows 11 Pro and Thunderbolt 3 expand connectivity

The machine ships with Windows 11 Pro 64-bit pre-installed, removing the need for a separate licence purchase. A single Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port adds high-speed data, video output and charging options through one cable. HDMI, three USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and a microSD reader complete the I/O set for docks, projectors and peripherals.

Chassis shows Grade B wear; SSD and RAM are soldered

The unit is graded B, meaning visible cosmetic marks on the lid or palm rest are expected while the system functions fully. Installation is limited to opening the box, connecting the included charger and powering on. The M.2 NVMe drive and memory are not user-replaceable, so storage or RAM upgrades require professional service. Buyers who need larger internal capacity or serviceable parts should consider other models.

Questions about this item

Will the 8 GB DDR4 memory need to be upgraded later?

The system ships with 8 GB DDR4 soldered to the board, so capacity cannot be increased after purchase.

What limits the Core i7-8650U during long workloads?

The 4.2 GHz turbo boost drops to the base 1.9 GHz once the cooling solution reaches its thermal limit.

How loud and hot does the 14 inch chassis get under all-day use?

The integrated UHD 620 graphics and 1.9 GHz quad-core processor run warm but the single fan keeps noise at office-background levels.
