14-inch touchscreen business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14-inch touchscreen laptop built for mobile professionals who need a compact, durable device. It runs on an Intel Core i7 8th Gen processor at 1.90 GHz with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed, and the chassis uses a magnesium alloy back for added rigidity.

Check ports, memory ceiling and OS needs

Verify that the available ports — HDMI 1.4, USB 3.1 Gen1 (three ports, one with PowerShare), DisplayPort over USB Type-C, RJ45, SD 4.0 card reader and uSIM slot — match your peripherals. The system ships with 16 GB of DDR4 across two slots and supports a maximum of 32 GB, so confirm that limit meets your workload. Wireless connectivity uses 802.11ac dual-band and Bluetooth 4.1; ensure your network infrastructure is compatible.

Replaces older 14-inch business notebooks

This unit replaces earlier 14-inch business notebooks that lack a touchscreen, solid-state storage or a modern 64-bit Windows environment. The jump is worth it when you need integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 for multi-monitor setups via HDMI and USB-C DisplayPort, a 1920 x 1080 anti-glare panel with a 0.92 MP webcam, and a guaranteed working battery in a 3.1 kg chassis. It is not suited for buyers who need discrete graphics, a larger display or user-replaceable storage beyond the single SSD.
