Compact business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14-inch touchscreen laptop built for professionals who need a portable Windows 11 Pro machine. It runs on an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 128GB M.2 SATA SSD. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles the 1920 x 1080 Full HD display.

Suits mobile workers not gamers

This device suits travelling staff who need HDMI output, USB-C connectivity, gigabit Ethernet and a microSD reader for client meetings. The 15W CPU and integrated graphics make it unsuitable for buyers who want discrete GPU performance, larger storage capacity or high-refresh-rate screens for creative workloads.

128GB M.2 SATA SSD capacity

The single specification that decides fit is the 128GB M.2 SATA solid-state drive. It provides fast boot and application loading but offers limited space for large media libraries or virtual machines. Buyers who need more local storage should look at a different configuration.

What throughput does the USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port actually cap at?

The USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port runs at up to 5 Gbps, matching USB 3.0 speeds for data and video, while also supporting PowerShare charging for phones.

What screw pattern and drive caddy does the 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD need to fit the motherboard?

The motherboard accepts a single M.2 2280 SATA module secured with one screw; no 2.5-inch caddy or adapter is required.

How is Windows 11 Pro activated after the first boot, and which step do buyers often skip?

Connect to the internet on the initial setup screen so the digital licence binds automatically; skipping Wi-Fi setup leaves the OS unactivated.
