Business-ready 14" touchscreen

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0 inch Full HD touchscreen laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor at 1.90 GHz. It ships with 8 GB DDR4 memory and a 128 GB SATA SSD running Windows 10 Pro. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles display output.

Upgrade from slower storage or dual-core chips

Replacing a mechanical hard drive with the 128 GB SATA SSD cuts boot and application load times. The four-core 8th Gen i7 improves multi-threaded responsiveness over older dual-core Ultrabook CPUs. The jump is worth it when daily workloads involve many browser tabs, office suites and video calls.

Fits thin-and-light business bags

The compact 14 inch chassis slides into narrow briefcases and backpack sleeves. USB Type-C and HDMI ports connect docks, monitors and peripherals without legacy adapters. Integrated graphics frees internal space and power budget for the battery. Buyers who want more storage or discrete graphics should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the 14.0-inch chassis accept a standard 2.5-inch SATA drive?

No, the 128GB M.2 SATA SSD is the only internal storage slot; there is no 2.5-inch bay in this 14.0-inch frame.

Which screws must be removed before lifting the keyboard deck to reach the M.2 slot?

Remove the nine Torx T5 screws on the bottom cover, then pry the palm-rest upward; the M.2 screw sits under the wireless card bracket.

When will the 128GB M.2 SATA SSD likely need replacement?

Typical SATA SSD endurance reaches several hundred terabytes written, so under normal workloads the 128GB drive should last many years before wear-out.
