Built for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14-inch ultrabook running Windows 11 Pro on an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor at 1.9 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB SSD, delivering responsive performance for office suites, video calls and multi-tab browsing in a compact form factor.

Integrated graphics and modern ports

Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles everyday visual tasks without a discrete GPU. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 4, Bluetooth 4.1, HDMI, three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports (one with PowerShare) and a USB Type-C port with DisplayPort output, so external displays and peripherals attach without adapters.

Suits travelers needing long battery life

The non-touch FHD IPS panel and integrated graphics favour efficiency over raw 3D power. Buyers who want more storage, a dedicated graphics card or a touchscreen should look at something else.

Questions about this item

Can the 16 GB DDR4 RAM be upgraded to 32 GB later?

The DDR4 memory technology supports up to 32 GB, so the current 16 GB can be expanded when needed.

Does the Intel Core i7-8650U throttle under sustained load?

The quad-core processor runs at 1.9 GHz base and can reach 4.2 GHz turbo, but thermal limits will determine how long it holds peak speed.

How loud or hot does the laptop get during all-day use?

With integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 and a 14" IPS panel, the system draws modest power, keeping fan noise and surface temperatures low for typical office workloads.
