Latitude 7490 14-inch ultrabook

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0-inch business ultrabook running Windows 11 Pro. It uses an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor at 1.9 GHz with 8 MB L2 cache and 8 GB DDR4 memory. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 IPS non-touch display. A 1 TB SSD provides storage.

Upgrade from dual-core or HDD models

Moving from a dual-core system or a hard-drive laptop brings noticeable gains in multi-threaded throughput and application load times. The quad-core CPU reaches 4.2 GHz turbo, and the solid-state drive removes mechanical latency. The jump is worth it when daily workloads include multiple browser tabs, Office suites and video calls.

Suits mobile professionals needing Windows 11 Pro

This configuration fits users who prioritise a compact 14-inch chassis, native Windows 11 Pro licensing and a 1 TB SSD out of the box. Buyers who want more storage, a discrete GPU, a touchscreen or 32 GB RAM should look at other configurations. The integrated graphics limit 3D and heavy rendering tasks.
