Dell Latitude 7490 14-inch Ultrabook

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14-inch business ultrabook powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor. It comes with 32 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD running Windows 11 Pro. The 1920 x 1080 IPS display offers Full HD clarity in a compact chassis.

Suited for mobile professionals needing quad-core

This configuration fits users who prioritise CPU cores and high memory capacity for multitasking on the move. Buyers who want more storage or a dedicated graphics card should look at other models. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles office workloads and video playback but not intensive 3D tasks.

256 GB SSD capacity defines the storage ceiling

The single 256 GB solid-state drive sets the total local space available for the operating system, applications and files. No additional hard drive or second SSD is included. Users with large media libraries or virtual machines will need external or cloud storage to supplement the built-in drive.

Questions about this item

What DDR4 memory speed must my existing SO-DIMMs match to work with the 32 GB already installed?

The system runs DDR4 at the speed supported by the Intel Core i7-8650U processor; matching that speed ensures stability when adding or replacing modules.

Can I drive a legacy 1080p monitor from the HDMI port while using the built-in 14.0" 1920 x 1080 IPS panel?

Yes, the HDMI output and the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 support a second 1920 x 1080 display alongside the internal screen.

How do I confirm the 256 GB SSD is recognised at full capacity after setup?

Open Settings > System > Storage in Windows 11 Pro and verify the drive shows approximately 256 GB of total space.
