Professional ultraportable

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0 inch business laptop built around an Intel Core i5 8th Gen processor running at 1.70 GHz. It ships with 8 GB DDR4 memory, a 256 GB solid-state drive and Windows 10 Pro 64-bit pre-installed. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 anti-glare display using shared system memory.

Mobile professionals needing durability and ports

This unit suits users who want a magnesium-alloy chassis, a full-size backlit keyboard and a comprehensive port selection including HDMI 1.4, USB 3.1 Gen1, DisplayPort over USB Type-C and RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance, a touchscreen panel or more than 32 GB maximum memory should consider other configurations.

8 GB DDR4 soldered plus one upgrade slot

The system provides 8 GB DDR4 installed across two slots with a 32 GB ceiling, so the single specification that decides fit is whether 8 GB meets the workload today and the open slot allows a future upgrade to the supported maximum.
