14-inch Business Laptop with i7-7600U

This 14.0-inch laptop runs Windows 11 Pro on a 7th Gen Intel Core i7-7600U dual-core processor that reaches 3.90 GHz. It comes with 16 GB DDR4-2133MHz memory and a 512 GB SSD. The HD anti-glare display measures 1366 x 768 and includes a webcam and microphone for video calls.

Sustained workload behaviour

The processor base clock sits at 2.80 GHz with a 3.90 GHz maximum boost. Intel HD Graphics 620 handles integrated visuals. Connectivity includes Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 8265 with Bluetooth, three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, RJ-45 Ethernet and DisplayPort over USB Type-C. The chassis is finished in black.

Upgrade context

Replaces an older ultraportable that lacks a quad-core boost to 3.90 GHz, 16 GB DDR4 memory or a 512 GB SSD. Not suited for buyers who need a higher-resolution panel, discrete graphics or more than three USB 3.0 ports. The jump is worth it when everyday multitasking and legacy port selection are the priority.

Questions about this item

How loud is the fan on the Latitude 7490 with the i7-7600U under sustained load?

The 7th Gen Intel Core i7-7600U runs at a base speed of 2.80 GHz and can boost to 3.90 GHz, so the cooling system spins up to manage heat during long work sessions.

What cables or docks must I already own to connect external displays to the HDMI and DisplayPort over USB Type-C?

You need an HDMI cable for the full-size HDMI port and a USB-C to DisplayPort cable or adapter for the USB Type-C port that carries DisplayPort video.

Will my older USB 2.0 flash drives and Gigabit Ethernet switch work with the 7490's three USB 3.0 ports and RJ-45 jack?

The three USB 3.0 ports are backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices, and the RJ-45 port supports standard wired network connections.
