Business-ready 14-inch laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 ships with Windows 10 Pro, an Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor at 1.90 GHz, 32 GB of memory and a 512 GB solid-state drive. It targets professionals who need a compact machine for office applications, web-based tools and video calls.

32 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD capacity

Thirty-two gigabytes of memory gives comfortable headroom for running several browser tabs, productivity suites and background services together. The 512 GB drive stores the operating system, local files and a modest application library; heavy media collections or large virtual-machine images will require external storage.

Thermals, noise and power draw

The 1.90 GHz U-series chip is designed for thin-and-light chassis, so sustained workloads stay within a low thermal envelope and fan noise remains subdued during typical office use. Battery life varies with screen brightness and workload, but the efficient processor helps deliver a full workday on a single charge.

Questions about this item

Will the 14" Latitude 7490 drive a 1080p external monitor alongside its built-in panel?

The Intel Core i7-8650U integrated graphics support dual-display output, so a 1080p external monitor can run simultaneously with the internal 14.0" screen.

How can I verify the 32GB RAM and 512GB SSD are recognised after first boot?

Open Windows 10 Pro Settings → System → About to confirm 32GB installed RAM, then check File Explorer or Disk Management for a 512GB drive.

Does the box include a Dell-branded 65 W charger or only a third-party unit?

An AC adapter is supplied; it may be a new third-party charger or a used OEM Dell unit, both tested to power the 7490 correctly.
