Professional Mobile Workstation

The Dell Latitude 7490 pairs an Intel Core i7-8650U processor running at 1.9 GHz with 16 GB of memory and a 256 GB solid-state drive. It targets professionals who need reliable performance for office applications, web-based workflows and light content creation while travelling.

Build Integration

The 14.0-inch chassis measures 13.03 x 8.7 x 0.70 inches and includes a full-size HDMI output for external monitors or projectors. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics handles the 1920 x 1080 panel and a second display without a discrete GPU, freeing thermal headroom and preserving the rated 10-hour battery life.

Bundled Extras

A built-in card reader allows direct media ingest from cameras or drones, removing the need for a separate dongle. The non-backlit keyboard keeps the internal layout simple for IT fleets that standardise on uniform key feel across large deployments.

Questions about this item

How long does the 10-hour battery last when the i7-8650U runs at full load?

Battery life is rated up to 10 hours; heavy CPU load will reduce that figure.

Does the 14.0" 1920 x 1080 display and Intel UHD Graphics stay cool and quiet during all-day use?

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics and 14.0" 1920 x 1080 panel run without a discrete GPU, keeping heat and fan noise low for typical office workloads.

Which peripherals must I already own to use the single HDMI port and card reader?

You need an HDMI cable for external displays and an SD card to use the built-in card reader.
