Business laptop for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a 14.0" business laptop built for professionals who need a portable Windows 10 Pro device. It runs on an Intel Core i5-8250U quad-core processor with a 1.60 GHz base and 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 8GB of memory and a 256GB SSD for fast boot and application loading.

Suits travelers needing core ports.

This unit suits mobile workers who rely on HDMI, RJ45, USB Type-C and multiple USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports for docks and peripherals. The 802.11ac wireless LAN supports office and café connectivity. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance for rendering or gaming should look at a different machine. The non-touch FHD screen is fixed at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

8GB soldered memory limits multitasking headroom

The 8GB RAM configuration is the decisive specification for this model. It handles typical business multitasking and web-based workflows without difficulty. Users who run virtual machines, large datasets or memory-intensive creative suites will hit the ceiling quickly because the memory cannot be upgraded beyond the factory fit.
