Business 14-inch laptop

The Dell Latitude E5450 is a 14.0-inch business laptop built for professionals who need a reliable Windows 10 Pro machine for daily office tasks. It suits users who value a traditional clamshell design with a full keyboard and legacy ports. Buyers who want a touchscreen or a modern thin-and-light ultrabook should look elsewhere.

512 GB SATA SSD

The single specification that decides fit is the 512 GB 2.5-inch SATA solid-state drive, which provides fast boot and application loading compared with a mechanical hard drive. Capacity is fixed at 512 GB, so users who need more internal storage for large media libraries or virtual machines will require an external solution.

Integrated graphics thermals

The integrated graphics card shares system memory and runs cool during typical productivity workloads such as document editing, web browsing and video playback. Fan noise stays low in normal office use, and the 5th Gen Intel Core i5-5300U processor with Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 balances performance with modest power draw.

Questions about this item

What real-world speed can I expect from the Core i5-5300U once the laptop is running Windows 10 Pro?

The 5th Gen Intel Core i5-5300U runs at 1.9 GHz base with Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0, so it will raise its frequency automatically when the 64-bit OS demands more performance.

How does the SATA interface affect the 512 GB solid-state drive in daily use?

The 2.5-inch 512 GB SATA SSD is limited by the SATA bus, so large file copies and boot times will be faster than a hard drive but slower than a PCIe-based drive.

What physical space is required to install or replace the memory in this Latitude E5450?

The laptop uses DDR3L SO-DIMM modules; you need access to the internal memory slots, which accept standard 204-pin low-voltage sticks.
